Golf Business News - Golfing Green champions sustainable golf apparel and accessory brands

Oct 19, 2024

A new online marketplace – www.golfinggreen.com – has been launched to help golfers find sustainable golf accessories and clothing.

The GOLFING GREEN marketplace aims to bring together sustainable golf products from around the globe to make it easier for golfers to find and make sustainable choices.

George Devane, founder of GOLFING GREEN, said: “For many golfers, brand and technical performance are key factors when choosing golf accessories and clothing. Sadly, there’s often a misconception that choosing sustainable products, especially from smaller suppliers, means making a compromise, but that’s not the case at all.

“With over 40 suppliers on board, offering a wide range of golf accessories and clothing, we hope that golfers will see that sustainable products are just as good, if not better, than traditional options.”

The website, which has launched just in time for the Christmas period, lists a wide range of sustainable golf gifts, ranging from coffee tees to on-trend golf polos and hoodies. As well as products from some of the mainstream suppliers such as PING and adidas, there’s also an array of exciting new products from a range of smaller suppliers.

Alena Oppenheimer, founder of sustainable apparel brand Ocean meets Green, says: “As a golf clothing brand that is committed to using eco-friendly fabrics, such as ECONYL recycled yarn, it’s great to be part of a family of golf brands, all striving to help golf become a more sustainable sport. By working together, we hope to raise the profile of sustainability in golf and make it easier for golfers to make sustainable product choices.”

The GOLFING GREEN website also includes a ‘Resources’ section, which provides information on natural, man-made, recycled and bio-tech materials as well as details of sustainability certifications and organisations.
