KINGDOM CITY – South Callaway avenged a Week 1 loss to North Callaway in the MSHSAA Class 2 District 3 quarterfinals Friday night, defeating the rival Thunderbirds 42-32 on Friday night.

The first nine drives of the game resulted in touchdowns, quite the departure from the season opener for both teams. The Thunderbirds won the game 20-8 to reclaim the Callaway Cup for the first time since 2021.
