The world of wildlife is filled with extraordinary and often unpredictable creatures, and among them, snakes have always been the most terrifying creatures that can give chills even to the bravest of hearts. However, the internet is flooded with videos featuring snakes, and one recent video has captured particular attention. This chilling clip shows a king cobra regurgitating three snakes it had previously swallowed.

In a shocking viral video, the king cobra is seen throwing up the three snakes, one by one, in the middle of a road. The onlookers present were visibly stunned by the terrifying sight. The sheer ferocity of the king cobra left them in awe, and some bold individuals not only recorded the event but also shared it on social media. The video was posted on the social media platform X by an account called @Rainmaker1973. You can watch the video here:

Since being shared, the video has been viewed by over 2 lakh people. One person asked, “Why did he spit them out?" Another remarked, “This is very scary." A third user speculated, “Maybe he couldn’t digest them."

Snakes have long been subjects of fascination in human folklore and mythology, and they display a behaviour known as ophiophagy, which refers to the practice of eating other snakes. This behaviour is observed in several snake species, with the king cobra being a notable example. As its name suggests, the king cobra preys on other venomous snakes, including kraits and cobras.

Primarily found in India, South China, and parts of Southeast Asia, the king cobra can grow up to 18 feet in length. It is known for its potent venom and exceptional hunting skills. The consumption of other snakes helps reduce competition for food and ensures a steady supply of prey.

In addition to the king cobra, the Eastern Kingsnake, found in North America, also preys on other snakes. Unlike the king cobra, the Eastern Kingsnake is immune to the venom of several dangerous species, such as rattlesnakes.
